Unfortunately, research shows that they face higher risks of bullying, rejection, and emotional harm, especially in child welfare settings. This training is designed to equip caregivers and staff with the knowledge and practical strategies to address these challenges directly. By grounding our work in state statutes that protect children’s safety, privacy, and equal treatment, we ensure that all youth receive the dignity and affirmation they are entitled to under the law. Respecting chosen names, pronouns, and identities is not optional — it is a statutory and ethical requirement for safeguarding well-being and supporting healing.
